Surviving Winter In Montreal
December 30, 2003
This
winter promises to be quite spectacular in Montreal. Already we've had snow
followed by rain followed by snow. This never used to happen and let's hope
our orchards won't despise it as much as our roads.
So
for the humanoid wanting to get to work AND BACK every day, let's see... The
Quebec Transport Department offers lots of good advice. On the other hand, CAA
Quebec is not only celebrating 100 years towing cars but now offers remarkable
car information over the phone whereas the APA offers similar yet somewhat different
services.
If for some reason your car got towed during the snow removal operations, here's
how you'll find where you can pick it up (... of course, after releasing some
weight off your wallet for towing, etc.). City of Montreal Info-Remorquage is
a web address which promises to have your car plate registered in their data
base within an hour of having towed it. They also have two phone numbers : -
One during the snow removal operations : (514) 872-3777 - and one available
year-round in case winter decides to stick around a little longer or for other
road infractions (514) 872-9412.
In the end, it may be best just to go skating, skiing, snowboarding or simply
plan your summer gardening by recycling your Christmas tree. Or even learn a
language, learn Czech first, then French will appear
easy.
